The Attack of the Zombies and Botnets

There is a zombie attack happening! No, not the zombies we have all become so familiar with from movies and television. These zombies don’t have an appetite for humans but they are just as dangerous and you won’t even see them coming; In fact, you may already own a zombie controlled device at home. If so, it is very likely your device is just one of a vast network of thousands or even millions forming a botnet. A true zombie invasion!

There’s no doubt that we are in the midst of the most technologically reliant era of our entire history. Everywhere you go technology is quick to follow. In our homes, in our cars, and even throughout the various schools. There is certainly a surplus of technology and now that summer is here and school is out, kids are in a constant search for activities to focus their time and energies. Television, computer, and cellphone usage are at an all-time high. There was once a time when going outside to play was the highlight of a kid’s day.  it’s time to get back to the real meaning of summer and rally the technology boomers to take a break from the world of gadgets.

RPO and RTO – Keeping Your Data Safe

Business continuity is something that all businesses are consumed with today.  With natural disasters such as Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and Ransomware infections in the recent years wiping out file servers, to name a few, there has been a major shift if focus on RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective).  It is vital for businesses to clearly define their RPO and RTO and to communicate that information to their internal IT team or their IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) to meet those objectives.
